Welcome to Ashland's Cub Scout Pack 1 !

Pack 1 Ashland
Welcome to Pack 1's website!

Pack 1 is part of the Boy Scouts of America, it's Knox Trail Council, and the Liberty District in the council.

Cub Scouting means "doing." Everything in Cub Scouting is designed to have the boys doing things. Activities are used to achieve the aims of Scouting—citizenship training, character development, and personal fitness. Many of the activities happen right in the den and pack. The most important are the bi-weekly den meetings and the monthly pack meetings.

Apart from the fun and excitement of Cub Scout activities, the Cub Scout Promise, the Law of the Pack, and the Cub Scout sign, handshake, motto, and salute all teach good citizenship and contribute to a boy's sense of belonging.

Remember the Cub Scout Motto:   Do Your Best

Great Baseball Game and a Night in the Outfield!

The Pawtucket Red Sox are pleased to host the Knox Trail Council Campout at McCoy Stadium. Bring your family, troop, pack, or den to a great fun-filled evening.  Join us for the Paw Sox vs. Columbus Clippers on Saturday, May 16th.
The campout is a great event for Scouts of all ages. It includes an on-field clinic with members of the PawSox team, ticket to the game, food voucher for a hot dog, bag of chips and a sports drink, continental breakfast, as well as a commemorative patch. The highlight of the evening is the opportunity to pitch your tent in the outfield of McCoy Stadium and the showing of a movie on the right field video board.
The on-field clinic begins at 2pm on 5/16 and all campers must be off the field by 8am on 5/17.
RSVP to Claudia Bialzik via cpbialzik@yahoo.com by April 27th.

Community Conversation

Posted on Apr 12 2015 - 4:58am
You are invited!
What:  Community Conversation
Hosted by: Decisions at Every Turn together with Pack 1 Cub Scouts
When:  Wednesday, April 29th - 7pm
Where:  Warren School
R.S.V.P.:  to Claudia Bialzik via cpbialzik@yahoo.com
On Wednesday, April 29th  a representative of the Decisions at Every Turn will teach our Webelos about substance abuse as part of their rank requirements.  As we did last year, we will also host aCommunity Conversation for ALL parents - those involved in all levels of scouting (not just the Webelos) and their friends as well.
Ashland's Decisions at Every Turn (DAET) Coalition is a community-based group with stakeholders from many organizations throughout Ashland.  The group is dedicated to creating a safe and healthy Ashland by working as a community to prevent, reduce, and solve the problems that can lead to youth substance abuse.
One strategy DAET uses to reach out is through Community Conversations.  A Community Conversation is a small gathering of parents or other caring adults interested in learning about youth substance abuse, the effects of substances on the developing adolescent brain and proven prevention strategies.
The purpose of this gethering is to initiate a discussion regarding youth substance use and abuse.  What do you find acceptable?  What are the rules in your house?

A trained facilitator attends the meeting to direct discussion and provides information regarding the trends of substance use/abuse among Ashland's youth.

We welcome you to join the Community Conversation!  Please R.S.V.P. to Claudia Bialzik via cpbialzik@yahoo.com if you plan to attend.
